For my final thesis, I redesigned the visual identity of Elector, Croatia’s independent music awards, drawing directly from my 2024 New Selector nomination.
I preserved the strongest elements while reworking others to better capture the essence of electronic music culture. The logo was improved for readability by reconstructing the letters “R” and “T” and connecting all characters more closely to the electronic scene. Following the “Four-on-the-floor” principle, referencing the steady 4/4 house beat, I built a 4×4 grid and derived the letter shapes from this rhythmic structure, creating a unified, pulsating form.
The original color palette did not strongly evoke electronic music, so I ran a Google Forms survey asking one question: “Which of these palettes best represents electronic music?” with six options, including the current one. The results guided a new, genre-aligned palette.
Event flyers shifted focus away from a centralized lineup by using isometric grids and 3D geometric shapes enriched with linear patterns that suggest musical rhythm. Lineup names were distributed randomly across these elements for a dynamic layout.
Nomination social posts used a carousel format: the first slide announces the category, while subsequent slides give each nominee individual attention with their name and photo. I extended the identity to printed materials, designing photowalls, DJ booth graphics, and T-shirts to create a consistent, immersive experience across physical and digital touchpoints. The redesigned system is modern, rhythmic, and cohesive, strengthening Elector’s position within Croatia’s vibrant electronic music community.
